You get a badge through registering as a professional photographer, which you can do at any time.
Simply go to your profile in the Byrd app and hit “My Settings” in the top left corner. Click on “Edit Profile” and tick the box that says “I work as a professional photographer”. Fill out the form and you’re now in the process of becoming a verified professional photographer!
Keep your photos and videos under 200 megabyte - otherwise our servers will protest.
No stress!

Check the assignment feed in the app and make sure Byrd can access your location. By accessing your location you are sure to always get the most relevant assignments.
You should briefly explain what your photo or/and video is about. We also encourage you to use relevant hashtags related to your photo or video.
No there's no limit. You can upload as much content as you wish.
The content uploaded or shot with Byrd must be your own original creation. The content must not infringe on any intellectual property rights nor can it contain privacy violation. You cannot upload content that is libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene, indecent, inappropriate, invasive or in any violation of privacy or publicity rights. You are not allowed to post anything abusing, harassing, threatening, bullying or otherwise objectionable.
Everything you upload to Byrd is available for sale - whether it comes from your library or you've shot it through the in-app camera. All content on the platform is protected by a watermark and is thereby protected against theft.
A professional photographer makes 30 € per sold photo, 45 € per sold album and 60 € per sold video + VAT.
The short answer is: Probably. Tax regulations differ from country to country, and it is your responsibility to make sure you pay the taxes you are obligated to. If you have any doubts or questions, you should direct these to the local tax authorities or an accountant who can give you the correct advice. Byrd does not provide guidance when it comes to taxes.

You need to have a VAT-number to be a verified photographer on Byrd or you can request dispensation if photography or journalism is a source of income for you.

If you find events around you interesting, funny, shareable or important there's a good chance that others will too. In the Byrd app, you can always take a look at relevant assignments, which you can find in the menu. It's also a great place to discover what various media deems newsworthy. If you wish to cancel your account, we'll be super sad, but don't worry there won't be any hard feelings. You can always cancel by writing us at hello@byrd.news. Don't forget to put your email and username in the subject field.
